Tarte Double Duty Beauty Day/Night Eye & Cheek Palette and The Lip Sculptor Double Ended Lipstick & Gloss Review and Swatches

Welcome back to my blog! I recently celebrated my Birthday and I bought these 2 items from Tarte. At the time all Tarte products earned you 5x the rewards points and I had a $10.00 Birthday coupon that was good on anything in the store! I ended up paying only $37.00 for both items and earned $8.00 worth of rewards. I was super happy about this!

I decided on the Double Duty Palette in "Classic Courage" and the Double Ended lipstick in "Basic"

I really like this lipstick and gloss combo. It gives you that very classic nude pink lip. I have a hard time wearing a nude lip because it washes out my pale skin and gives me the dead look. This lipstick is more pink so I can pull it off.

The lipstick is very creamy and pigmented and has good staying power with the gloss on top. The gloss is very smooth and not sticky. I really like this and would like to try out some other colors.

I have never been a big fan of Tarte eyeshadows because I always found them very dry and not pigmented. I swatched this palette in Ulta and it is so creamy and pigmented! The colors in this palette are beautiful and perfect for summer.

Shades Left to Right: Smile On, Rosy Outlook, Rise & Shine, Lucky Penny, and Trailblazer

The Blush is an Amazonian Clay blush and it is in a really pretty rosy neutral color. I love this blush. It is very soft and pigmented and pairs perfectly with these shadows.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette Champagne Glow Review & Swatches

I can't even begin to say how I excited I was to be able to get one of these palettes when it was released on the Sephora mobile app during the Becca party celebrating the collection!  I have been eyeing it ever since it was released and planned to get it when it comes out on May 26th at Sephora. Let me tell you it was sold out immediately!

This palette is $52.00 dollars which I think is a great price considering one highlighter is $38.00. The highlighters are 0.19oz and a full size Becca highlighter is 0.28oz. The matte blushes are 0.12oz and the shimmer blush is 0.10oz. I really think this is very generous amount of product for the price. Especially since you need the smallest amount of highlighter because they are so pigmented.

The packaging is absolutely beautiful! It is probably one of the most beautiful makeup items I have ever owned.  You can tell this is a quality product because the packaging has some substance to it. It has a giant mirror inside which I personally love. You can tell that Jaclyn and Becca Cosmetics really put thought into this palette.

The palette contains 3 blushes and 2 highlighters including the beloved Champagne Pop.

Champagne Pop is my favorite highlighter of all time. It is a beautiful peachy white gold.

Prosecco Pop is a beautiful true gold and so perfect for summer.

All 3 blushes are very pigmented and blend beautifully.

Rose` Spritz is a peachy pink with gold shimmer. This is my favorite blush out of the 3.

Amaretto is a nice neutral matte color. A great color all year round.

Pamplemousse is a bright matte pink. Perfect for summer!

I love this palette so so soon much! If you are considering purchasing you will not be disappointed. The full Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection will be available on Sephora.com on May 26th and in stores June 16th.  I can't wait to try out the eyeshadow palette and Champagne Pop poured. What are you excited to try from the collection? Let me know in the comments!

May 2016 ipsy Glam Bag | Destination Chic | Is ipsy worth it?

This is my first ever ipsy bag and I was very excited to finally receive it in the mail! If you don't know what ipsy is, it is a subscription service in which you receive 5 beauty samples and a makeup bag every month. It comes in this hot pink envelope, which I have to admit was fun seeing in my mailbox. First off, I  really like that you get a new makeup bag each month. It definitely makes it feel like you are getting your moneys worth. I was equally impressed with the products I received and I felt that they were worth $10.00.

I loved the pattern of this months bag!

Jelly Pong Pong Cosmetics

Caribbean Sun Bronzer Duo

I am not sure that these colors will work for bronzer, but they are super pigmented and soft and I can't wait to try them as eyeshadow. The colors are beautiful and so perfect for summer!

 Vera Mona Eyeshadow Smudge Brush

I LOVE that ipsy includes brushes in their Glam Bags! This brush is super soft and I can't wait to try it out!

Aurora Gel effect Nail Polish "Safety Orange"

This was fun to receive because I do not have a color like this in my collection! This would look awesome with some gold glitter polish over top!

IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Liner "Black"

I have never tried anything from IT Cosmetics so I can't wait to try this and plus, who can't use more eyeliner?

Krazy Rumors Hibiskiss Natural Lip Color "Coral"

I have already used this product multiple times and I really like it. It gives your lips a hint of color and shimmer plus hydration. I love that it is all natural.

I was very impressed with my first ipsy Glam Blag. The price tag is fair for the amount of product you receive and I think it is a great way to try our new products and brands. Every month I will be doing a little review of the months Glam Bag. Nars Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer VS. Elf Blush and Bronzer duo in St. Lucia | Review & Swatches

I know by now every beauty lover has noticed that the Elf blush/bronzer duo looks suspiciously like the cult favorite Nars duo. Some have even gone so far as to call it a dupe. The Nars duo retails for $42.00 and Elf $3.00,  so it would save our wallets if this was a dupe.
I decided after many years of going back and forth on whether to purchase this cult classic I finally took the plunge. This duo did not disappoint and has quickly become a staple in my makeup collection. Recently while at Target (a place I frequent often) and perusing the makeup aisle I spotted the Elf duo and decided to give it a shot.

As you can see these duos do look a lot alike. They both have matte black packaging, but the Nars packaging has much more of a rubber texture and to be honest, feels much higher quality compared to the Elf packaging. The major difference I noticed right off is the difference in the blush shades. I have seen swatches online where they look identical, but I do not see it.

                                                                                 Elf

Nars

Nars Orgasm is a bright peachy pink with gold shimmer. The blush is quite pigmented and smooth. The Elf blush is very light and powdery and it took many layers to get the swatch shown above. The Elf blush was very hard to apply to the cheeks and I really had to use a lot of product to get even the slightest color payoff. Compared to the Nars blush that applies so easily and you do not need much product at all. I would not say that the blush is a dupe. There are plenty of other peachy pink shades in the drugstore so I would pass on this one. If you would like to see a post on dupes for Nars Orgasm from the drugstore please leave me a comment! (:

Elf

Nars

Now let's talk about the bronzer because I have some good news! This is a dupe! These bronzers are almost identical. The neutral tone of the bronzers is identical and they both leave your skin looking bronzed and healthy. The little bit of shimmer makes your skin look so radiant. You can still use them for contouring because the glitter is so minimal. The major difference is the Elf bronzer is VERY pigmented and slightly powdery so you need to tap your brush before applying. Nars Laguna is my holy grail bronzer, but I have actually been reaching for the Elf one since I got it. If you were one the fence about buying Laguna I would buy the Elf one and seriously you will not be disappointed.

So, I can only say that I think half of the Elf duo is a dupe, but I still think that it is worth purchasing for the bronzer. I love the Nars duo and I think it is worth every penny. I hope if you were on the fence about either of these products that my review helped you. If there are any products you would like to see a review on please leave a comment below!

Benefit Cosmetics Cheekathon Blush & Bronzer Palette Review and Swatches

Ok, Benefit fans this palette is a must have and not to mention an AMAZING value! You get 4 FULL SIZE blushes and 1 FULL SIZE bronzer. The shades you get are Rocketeur, Dallas, Hoola, Coralista, and Dandelion. This palette is is sold at Ulta and Sephora and retails for $58.00. You get 4 blushes and 1 bronzer for the price of two powders!!!! That is an amazing deal and a great way to try some of the Benefit boxed powders.

The packaging is cardboard, but durable.

The tray of powders pops out. I assume this is so you can depot them if you would like.

As with all Benefit boxed powders you get a brush. Most of the time brushes that are included are not worth keeping, but this one is really good for contouring!

Dandelion : A light baby pink with a slight sheen that will brighten up your complexion.

Hoola : A matte neutral bronzer that is perfect for fair skin and contouring. This is one of my favorite bronzers.

Rockateur: A plummy pink with a satin finish. This is a great neutral blush that can be worn with a lot of different looks!

Dallas: This blush does not look like much from the swatch, but it is one of my all time favorites! I don't know what it is but it can just tie together any look. If you have fair skin this can even work as a bronzer. Dallas is a matte shade.

Coralista: This blush is the epitome of coral. It gives a beautiful sheen to the cheeks and is the perfect  blush for summer!

All of these blushes/bronzer are the same amazing formula that you get in the individual Benefit boxed powders. This palette is limited edition so if you are not sure whether you should purchase it or not I say go for it. It is amazing quality and at even better price!

Thanks so much for stoping by my blog and I hope come back. If there are any products you would like to see reviewed please leave me a comment!
