Get to know me! | Kiss and Makeup Angela

Hey everyone! Thank you for taking the time to stop by my blog. I wanted to write a post introducing myself to all of you because I have not done anything like that yet. So if you don't already know my name is Angela and this blog is all about beauty! I am also a Wife and stay at home Mom, but you won't see much about my family on here. I will post about them occasionally on Instagram (kissandmakeupangela make sure to follow!), but that is about it. I do not really feel comfortable about putting my kids on the internet. Some other random things about me, I LOVE coffee and I will never give it up ( I have tried and it was not pretty). I enjoy politics and love watching the news. My favorite tv shows are The Office, Gilmore Girls, and The Big Bang Theory. I also enjoy Movies such as Anne of Green Gables, Little Women, and anything relating to Jane Austen. I go to Target weekly and it is my happy place. Couponing is also something that I am trying to get into, and I hope to include some coupons deals for makeup when I come across them.

I have loved makeup for as long as I can remember. I used to buy those makeup palettes from the toy section with the stackable lipsticks, anyone remember those?  I am not a makeup artist by any means, but I am very passionate about makeup so you can always trust that I will give you my honest opinions. I am here to inform you about the good and bad in the makeup world and hopefully bring you a good deal from time to time!

Also, I have a disclaimer for this blog and that is...You do not need makeup to be beautiful. I believe real beauty comes from within (Yes, I know it sounds cheesy) and that is the truth. Makeup to me is a hobby and not something that I feel that I have to wear. I truly believe being comfortable in your own skin is very important. If your heart is ugly no amount of makeup you wear can cover that up. Disclaimer over. (:

I hope you all enjoy my blog and if you have a blog please let me know about it! Also, leave me a comment if you have any products or posts you would like to see! Thanks again for stopping by!

Smashbox Lighting Theory Master Class Palette Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog. Today I am reviewing the Smashbox Lighting Theory Master Class Palette. This palette concentrates on contouring, strobing, and shadow. This palette is available at Sephora and retails for $65.00. I had mentioned to my husband that I really liked this palette and he said to order it! He is awesome and totally supports my makeup addiction even though he doesn't understand it. (:

This palette comes with  4 cream color correctors, cream contour , highlight, bronzer, and 3 cream shimmer highlights. You also get 24 powder eyeshadows, and 3 powder blushes.

This palette also includes 5 instructional cards to help you with color correcting, contouring, and different eye looks.

These cream contours are so creamy, bendable and pigmented. I actually can't believe how good these are! I have never had good luck with color correctors but these work incredibly well. I would buy this palette just to have these correctors.

The contour, bronzer and highlight are just as amazing as the color correctors. These blend like a dream and are perfect for beginners because they allow you to build the color because they are so blendable. My only issue is the highlight is not light enough to really highlight my pale skin, but I can overlook that. This bronzer does not come off orange and the contour is actually cool enough to be a contour for fair skin.

These highlights are pretty good, but not as creamy and pigmented as the other creams in the palette. They are not going to give you that champagne pop glow, but they are really nice if you want a subtle highlight.  My personal favorite is the pink shade. These would be great as a brow bone highlight too!

I have never tried Smashbox eyeshadows before so that made me even more excited for this palette. The shadows are very pigmented and soft. I did find that some shades were a little more powdery than others, but if you tap your brush before applying they work really well. The shadows are very blendable and I really like the selection of neutrals and the pops of color. My only complaint about the shadows is the shade blackout is more of a grey as opposed to a true black. I would have really liked to have a true black in this palette because if you were traveling you could use it as liner. Overall, these are good quality shadows.

L to R : Sand, Totally Nude, Nectar, Almond

L to R: Truffle, Lightwave, Sunrise, Sunlight

L to R: Optics, Metallic Violet, Metallic Bronze, Metallic Brick

L to R: Nocturnal, Blackout, Sumatra, Backlit

I have also never tried Smashbox blushes and I was really impressed by these. They are pigmented and blend beautifully. They also have really good staying power. Sometimes I feel that my blush doesn't last all day  even with a setting spray, but these blushes still looked vibrant and fresh at the end of the day.

L to R: Candlelit, Carnation, Spectrum

I think this palette is amazing! If you are somebody that does not have a lot of makeup this would be a perfect palette to start with because you get a little bit of everything. If you are planning on purchasing this palette leave me a comment and let me know. Thanks again for stoping by my blog and make sure to leave your email so you never miss a post! (:

Whats in my June 2016 Ipsy Glam Bag | #Rebelrebel

Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today I am going to show you what I got in my June Ipsy bag.

I got two of the Patchology Flashmasque Illuminate sheet masks and I cannot wait to try these out. I love face masks of any kind and these look like they will be really good.

I also received a full size Mirabella Beauty magic marker eyeliner in very black. This liner is very intense and applies nicely, but has no staying power. I will try to use it when I am at home, but this isn't something I would wear out. Kind of disappointing.

I was really excited to get The Balm eyeshadow. I got it in the color Matt Moskowitz which os from the Meet Matte Trimony palette. It is a deep matte plum. I have not tried anything from the balm so I was very happy to receive this. So far I really like it and it makes me excited to try more from this brand.

The fourth item I received was the Klorane waterproof makeup remover. I have yet to try this, but I am excited too. I never wear waterproof eye makeup because I can never get it off. Maybe this will change that?

The last item I received is a limited edition Julie nail polish in the color tropical matte. This is a color I would never pick out for myself.  I like blue/green nails on other people, but I don't usually like them on me. Maybe I will try it for fun or give it to one of my younger sister.

I think I got a pretty good glam bag this month. I like three out of the five products and I think that those three are worth more than $10.00! If you are interested in Ipsy here is my link to sign up www.ipsy.com I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you have any suggestions for future posts please leave me a comment. Thanks for reading! The best highlights for fair skin | My top 3 | Review & Swatches

Hey everyone! Todays blog post is about my top 3 highlighters for fair skin.

The first highlighter I am going to talk about is Makeup Revolutions Vivid Shimmer Brick in Radiant. You can find this at MakeupRevolution.com and also Ulta.com. It Retails for only $7.00!!!!
I just love these colors especially the lightest shade. This highlight is very pigmented and will work for all skin tones. I cannot say how much I love this highlighter! I LOVE it, lol.

Here are all the colors swatches individually.

This is the lightest shade which is the one I use for a highlight the most. This just looks so beautiful on the skin. It is a mix of a golden champagne with a little bit of pink. I have never seen a highlight in this color. If you get a chance to buy this, do it!

Next up we have the ever so popular, Shimmering Skin Perfecter in Champagne Pop by Becca Cosmetics. You can find this at Sephora.com and it retails for $38.00. Yes, this is an expensive highlighter, but this will last you forever! I did not buy this for the longest time because I thought that it was too dark for my fair skin, but I was very wrong. This highlight is amazing on fair skin! The formula of Becca highlighters is so good. They blend right into the skin and they do not even look like a powder. I use this on my face as well as my shoulders and chest area. You can even use it on your legs. I just love this highlight so much and you really get what you pay for.

Last but not least is Nars liquid illuminator in Copacabana. This is available at http://narscosmetics.com and Sephora.com and retails for $30.00. This is also a pricey highlight, but I have had this for over a year and I still have about half left. This is a beautiful lilac color and it looks gorgeous on pale skin. I love to mix this in with my foundation for a dewy finish. This is also great to mix on with your body lotion for an all over glow.

Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches | Now discontinued | I got a good palette

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Todays review is going to be on the new Becca x Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection eyeshadow palette. This palette is no longer available. Jaclyn Hill and Becca Cosmetics have decided to discontinue the palette because some people have complained of the quality. I was quite surprised by this because I did not feel mine was bad quality at all.  It is kind of sad that this happened and I could not imagine being in Jaclyn's shoes during this. I personally like the palette, but maybe I got a good one?

The packaging is absolutely beautiful. It is a mirrored gold with The Becca x Jaclyn Hill logo and it does have a mirror inside. Jaclyn Hill said that the concept behind the logo is champagne popping from the bottle. How cute is that? The packaging is substantial and very good quality just like the face palette from this collection.

These shadows are very warm in tone so if you do not like warm shadows do not buy this palette. I myself prefer cool toned eyeshadow, but it was fun to try something new. These colors will be beautiful for summer. They are very soft and the matte shades are a little powdery, but very pigmented.

I think my favorite shade in the palette is Chardonnay! It is such a beautiful inner corner and brow bone highlight.

Overall, I really like this palette. The warm tones are out of my comfort zone so it has been fun experimenting with a different look. I know a lot of people were disappointed with the quality of their palette, but I felt mine was pretty good. I have never used Becca shadows so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Did you buy this palette? What are your thoughts on it?
Let me know in the comments below!
